This series is designed for the beginner or intermediate who would like to
advance
skills & improve knowledge in the medium of digital photography.
In the Beginning: Digital 101 Saturday April 10th 10:am- 3:00pm
An introductory course covering; shooting modes, histogram, metering, exposure
compensation, aperture control (what’s an f-stop?), shutter control, viewfinder
& live view. Many important tips on improving & simplifying your photos will be
covered.
Introduction to the world of visual design, covers Balance, emphasis, colour,
shape, line, pattern, texture, etc. Learning to see a photograph rather than
simply take a picture. Understanding tonal range & our cameras’ ability to
capture it will also be covered.
A must for all who enjoy the visual world we live in…
We’ll explore in depth the importance of light in our images, covering: light
quality, intensity, direction of light & how this affects
the outcome of your photograph. When
to shoot, when not to shoot & how our camera reads light. Artificial
light & flash will also be covered &
the advantages & disadvantages of using it. This course can be a real eye-opener
to some.
After all, Photography
truly is ‘writing with light’
Making Colour work for you:
Sunday May 2nd
We’ll discuss the affect colour has in imagery & how we can use this to our
advantage.
We’ll discuss white balance, colour temperature & how different colours affects
mood.
Tips on improving skin tones, landscapes, close-ups & night-shots will also be
covered.
